She also has significant experience with national and international arbitration and mediation; emergency response investigations and handling of claims related to commercial accidents; and appellate representation before state and federal courts, including the representation of amici.

“We thank Wray Blattner for his management of the Dayton office over the last six years. During Wray’s tenure, our Dayton office, among other accomplishments, played a leading role in the creation and development of the Greater Dayton Area Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Legal Roundtable,” said Deborah Z. Read, Thompson Hine’s Managing Partner. “We are confident that the office will continue to thrive under Christine Haaker’s leadership. Christine is a highly regarded litigator who is also known for her advocacy of causes that improve the quality of life in Dayton and for her active involvement in community, charitable and professional associations.”

Haaker has been active in many community organizations and is viewed as a leader in the Dayton area and in professional litigation circles. She has served as President of the Dayton Bar Association and as President of the Federal Bar Association, Dayton Chapter. Haaker currently serves on the University of Dayton School of Law Advisory Council and is a former member of the Diabetes Dayton Board of Trustees and the Dayton Art Institute’s Associate Board. In addition, she contributes to the pro bono efforts of the Greater Dayton Volunteer Lawyers Project and regularly participates in events and programs with the Greater Dayton Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Legal Roundtable Committee.

Haaker has been widely recognized as a legal, business and community leader. Her distinctions include being twice named a Litigation Star by Benchmark Litigation, being recognized as the 2019 Litigation-Antitrust “Lawyer of the Year” in Dayton by Best Lawyers® and being honored with the 2018 Federal Service Award from the Dayton Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. In addition, Haaker was selected by the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce to participate in the 2020 cohort of its Empower program for women business leaders and has been recognized as a Dayton Dragons Community All-Star.

“It is an honor and a privilege to be selected to lead the Dayton office,” said Haaker. “I look forward to working more closely with the firm’s leadership and driving forward innovative legal service delivery for our clients while continuing our efforts to contribute to my hometown, the Dayton community.”

Haaker earned her J.D. from The Ohio State University Michael E. Moritz College of Law and her B.S, magna cum laude, from University of Dayton.
