We invite you to join your fellow trade and compliance professionals for a virtual panel discussion on the increasing global focus on forced labor. Customs laws have long prohibited the importation of goods made using forced labor, but recent government actions have led to an increase in goods held at the U.S. border and additional enforcement measures, including the use of sanctions against companies and individuals located outside the United States.

This increased enforcement and regulatory risk, combined with growing global awareness and stakeholder pressures on companies, reinforces the need for U.S. companies to remain vigilant about their foreign supply chains. We will provide an overview of forced labor in the context of international labor standards and an increasingly complex international regulatory structure of hard and soft law frameworks addressing responsible business conduct. We will also discuss resources and best practices to reduce the risk of encountering forced labor in a company’s supply chain.
